Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) Board & VIP Trip
Join CMEP’s Executive Director Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon on a holistic pilgrimage to Israel and the Palestinian territories. See some of the main holy sites of the region while meeting with Christian leaders and ministries who are directly connected to CMEP’s 27 denominations and partnerships. Engage with active peace builders who are doing the hard work of both pursuing justice and seeking reconciliation.
The primary purposes of the trip:
1. Spiritual formation and discipleship around justice, peacebuilding, and advocacy
2. Education about the geopolitics of the region meeting with key government stakeholders within the US government (USG), Israeli government (GOI), and Palestinian Authority (PA)
3. Meeting with church leaders in the region, particularly those who are a part of our member organizations.
Watch this recent CMEP Webinar from the Pilgrimage to Peace (P2P) tour during January 2017 where CMEP’s Executive Director Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon was joined by Palestinian Christian Shadia Qubti and Sharona Weiss from Jerusalem for CMEP’s first P2P tour of 2017. Throughout the tour they shared the realities on the ground and their vision for peace and justice in the Holy Land with churches, universities, and the U.S. government in Seattle; Washington, DC; and Philadelphia.
