Oseh Shalom’s 2025 Israel Trip

Oseh Shalom’s 2026 Israel Trip

Global Leader in Socially Conscious Travel.

Oseh Shalom’s 2026 Israel Trip
Tour Dates:

June 18 - 25, 2026

3,185 USD*

Many Jews have had an affinity for Israel, many have long had an ambivalence, and many have had a complicated relationship. Especially since October 7, being Jewish and implicitly connected to Israel has become exponentially complicated.

To that end, we are organizing a trip so that the Oseh Shalom community can have an opportunity to meet firsthand with some of the various constituents in Israel, especially those who share the value of wanting to truly live in peace. We are working with Mejdi Tours because—as their website states—we’re “choosing to see more than sites. We’re choosing to tap into one of the world’s best secrets: that we are all connected by shared values that cross cultures, languages, religions, nationalities, and ethnicities – and that there is far more that unites us than separates us.”

At this time when the loudest narratives in Israel can seem to be about separation and domination, we will engage on a unique tour to meet with individuals and communities in Israel that can inspire us about what is truly possible.

Registration Deadline: March 10, 2026

*Depending on interest, there may be optional add-on extensions before or after the main part of the trip.
**Prices are per person and based on double occupancy. Single room supplements are available.

This trip is for adults- both those who have been to Israel before as well as first-timers, and is also open to mature youth, age 10 and older.

“MEJDI Exclusive” Socially Conscious Experiences:
We design our itineraries to immerse you in these cultures. So you don’t just visit new places; you become part of them. These human experiences and how we treat the people you meet are what sets MEJDI apart.
Here are just a few of the unique highlights from our plan to date:
Spend Shabbat with the progressive Jewish community – Kibbutz Gezer in the scenic Ayalon Valley (Fri eve), and with a different community on Shabbat morning.
Meet an activist or cultural creator whose familial roots in Arabic-speaking lands inform their perspective on the intersections of race relations in Israel, the Occupation, and Israel’s relationship with its neighbors
Ascend as a group to the Temple Mount / Noble Sanctuary with your two guides: one Palestinian, and one Jewish Israeli. Remember Jewish Temples of previous millennia and come to understand Islamic attachment to Al Aqsa. Stroll the vast plaza surrounding the Dome of the Rock, calling attention to underlying national and political sensitivities that make this remarkably tranquil site so volatile.
Visit the Jerusalem branch of the Yad b’Yad (Hand in Hand) network of bilingual Hebrew-Arabic schools to hear from its leadership and educators about the challenges inherent within this educational framework and the power of language to help build bridges between Israeli and Palestinian communities.
…And much more over the course of this transformative week!
Note: If there are a significant number of children joining, we will add on a couple of special other options.

About Your Group Leader

Rabbi Daria Jacobs-Velde

Rabbi Daria serves as the co-Rabbi at Oseh Shalom, located between Baltimore and Washington DC. She strives to live life with intentionality, and finds particular meaning in partnering with the Divine for the unfolding of transformational potential. This finds particular expression through her passion for creating pathways of connection and joy with the Hebrew language, Judaism and the natural world, the voice and body, the prayers and practices that once were so alienating, and creating meaningful intergenerational gatherings rooted in ancient sacred teachings that are relevant for our lives today. Her own meandering journey as a Hebrew school drop out to a rabbi who lived abroad for a total of six years (3 years in Japan, and 3 years Israel), as well as in various parts of the United States (the East Coast, the Midwest, and the West Coast), serves as the inspiration for her own deep knowing of “you just never know how things can unfold with such grace and possibility!”

MEJDI was one of the first global tour companies to earn B Corp Certification back in 2014, long before B Corp became widely recognized beyond sustainability circles. For us, this certification is a transparent way to demonstrate that we stand by our values: we ensure local vendors are paid fair wages, prioritize small, locally-owned businesses, and treat our partners and staff with dignity and respect. This deep commitment to social change drives MEJDI’s mission: “We exist to create a more peaceful and interconnected world through travel.”
