Join members of Temple Beth Zion and Temple Sinai for a journey to Israel and Palestine that will deepen our understanding, challenge our assumptions, and strengthen our sense of responsibility in this unique moment.
Led by Rabbis Claudia Kreiman and Andy Vogel, the trip offers personal encounters with the Israelis and Palestinians committed to coexistence and peacebuilding—from analysts, activists, rabbis, and communities on the Gaza border, to Palestinian leaders and families whose lives have been impacted by conflict.
Moving from streets of Jaffa, to Haifa and Nazareth, and on to Jerusalem, engage with questions of identity, human rights, and coexistence; hear directly from people working to build a safer and more just future, and join with us in Shabbat singing, prayer, and Torah.
Return home with a deeper connection to our destination— bringing new questions, perspectives, and ways of engaging back to our communities.

Your Group Leaders
Rabbi Andrew Vogel has served as the rabbi of Temple Sinai since 2004. He was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York in 1998 and holds a B.A. from Brandeis University, with additional studies at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Jewish Theological Seminary. Before joining Temple Sinai, he served at Temple Kol Emeth in Marietta, Georgia, and Temple Shir Tikva in Wayland, Massachusetts. Rabbi Vogel has held leadership roles with the Boston Area Reform Rabbis, Mayyim Hayyim, CJP’s Commission on Jewish Life and Learning, and Boston’s J Street chapter. He is also an active member of the Brookline Clergy Association and has long been engaged in Jewish education and community leadershi
Rabbi Claudia Kreiman has served as Senior Rabbi of TBZ since 2019, after joining the community as Assistant Rabbi in 2007. Born in Santiago, Chile, she became the first Chilean-born woman ordained to the rabbinate, receiving her ordination in Jerusalem in 2002. Her experiences growing up under dictatorship and losing her mother in the 1994 AMIA bombing shaped her lifelong commitment to social justice. Before coming to Boston, she served as the first rabbi of the Masorti youth movement NOAM in Israel and held Jewish educational and spiritual leadership roles in Israel and New York. At TBZ, she brings together joyful prayer, Torah learning, spiritual practice, and social justice, while contributing leadership to Jewish and interfaith organizations throughout Greater Boston.
Light to Moderate Activity
The itinerary for this trip has light physical demands including walking tours of up to a few hours at a time (with breaks) on uneven surfaces (i.e. Jerusalem Old City stone) and sitting in a motor coach for up to a few hours at a time. Most sites will be accessible to travelers with minor mobility limitations. No other strenuous activities (hiking, adventure, etc.) are featured.
