Join peace maker, author, and activist Maoz Inon for a transformative journey through Nazareth, the most important Palestinian city in Israel.
Led by Maoz, this tour offers a rare, multi-layered look at Nazareth’s profound evolution—from its ancient roots in the time of Jesus, through the pivotal events of the 1948 Nakba, to its modern-day status. Together with Maoz, you will unpack the unique challenges and vibrant opportunities this historic city faces today.
During the tour, Maoz will share his personal story of establishing the Fauzi Azar Inn in 2005, the very first guesthouse in Nazareth’s Old City, which sparked a local tourism and economic revolution. This deep connection to Nazareth is also immortalized in Chapter 7 of his New York Times bestselling book, The Future Is Peace (co-authored with Aziz Abu Sarah), which takes place entirely within the ancient, winding streets of this city.
In the wake of unimaginable personal tragedy, the loss of his parents, Yakovi and Bilha, on October 7, 2023, Maoz turned profound grief into a relentless pursuit of reconciliation. As you walk the city together, he will share his “Formula for Peace by 2030”, a groundbreaking vision for which he was honored with the Franco-German Human Rights Prize and the Shared Living Award.
Throughout the day, Maoz will also introduce you to a diverse group of inspiring local entrepreneurs. Through their personal stories, you will discover how local economic initiatives, community action, and shared spaces actively build a shared life and generate concrete, lasting hope in a city on the edge of tomorrow.
