If recent events have taught us anything, it is that, in the midst of pain and complexity, it is our responsibility as American Jews to seek understanding and human connection with each other and with Israelis and Palestinians. It is one thing to be caught in charged debates about Israel and Palestine from the distance of life in the US. It is another to go there personally, to see with our own eyes and hear with our own ears from the people on the ground who are working for a better future.

This fall, we’re very excited to be offering a trip different than any we’ve ever experienced. It’s an opportunity to travel together as a CBE community across generations and across perspectives.

Fifty percent of us will be 40 and under, and 50% will be over 40.

Fifty percent of our time on the ground will be in Israel, and 50% will be in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.

We’ll devote 100% of our time to hearing a diversity of Palestinian and Israeli voices.

We invite you to apply to join us. We are looking for CBE members who are open and ready to engage in thoughtful dialogue with one another, with the Israeli and Palestinian people we will meet while there, and with fellow CBE congregants and our broader Jewish community upon our return. Trip participants will be expected to engage in two group dialogues before we go and two events to debrief, reflect, and engage the larger CBE community when we return. We hope you will apply!

Please note that an optional pre-tour extension is available for those visiting the region for the first time or wishing to experience its classic highlights. This extension offers an introduction to the area, including Jerusalem’s sacred sites, Masada, the Dead Sea, and the Galilee.

Travel scholarships will be offered in hopes of making this trip as accessible as possible. If you have questions, please contact Nate Jaffe at [email protected].

MEJDI was one of the first global tour companies to earn B Corp Certification back in 2014, long before B Corp became widely recognized beyond sustainability circles. For us, this certification is a transparent way to demonstrate that we stand by our values: we ensure local vendors are paid fair wages, prioritize small, locally-owned businesses, and treat our partners and staff with dignity and respect. This deep commitment to social change drives MEJDI’s mission: “We exist to create a more peaceful and interconnected world through travel.”
