This tour, sponsored by Congregation Shaarei Shamayim in Madison, Wisconsin, will offer a combination of rich historical, cultural, and spiritual experiences, introducing participants to Israeli and Palestinian narratives with the goal of building understanding and respect for the people living in the region. It will focus on the impact of the Israeli occupation and explore obstacles to a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Participants will learn about the daily realities of life in Jerusalem and the West Bank through one-on-one conversations, excursions and home stays, and meetings with Israelis and Palestinians working for a just peace. It is designed for people who are both new to these issues as well as those who have spent significant time in the region. Teenagers who are accompanied by an adult are welcome to join us.
