with the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center
Accompanied by two guides, one Israeli and one Palestinian, we will hear multiple narratives and see beyond the headlines. Digging deeper, we will draw inspiration from people we meet as we learn about their joys and struggles of daily life in Israel and on the West Bank. This 10-day journey will be serious and festive, political and spiritual. It will be filled with art, music, great food, and in-depth discussion. We will talk with Israelis and Palestinians of different religious backgrounds and political perspectives, Christians, Muslims, and Jews, conservative, moderate, and progressive. From the hip contemporary culture of Tel Aviv to a Palestinian circus arts group in Birzeit — from Shabbat home hospitality in Jerusalem to a home cooked lunch in the Arab fishing village of Jisr az Zarqa, we will see, meet, taste, and experience, the passion and the diversity of Israel and Palestine.
